Each year during the ACSM Annual Meeting at the Friday evening banquet, ACSM recognizes and thanks the current president for his/her contributions to the college. At this time, the president-elect also takes the stage, a ceremonial passing of the gavel occurs, and the new president begins his/her duties by leading the Saturday Board of Trustees meeting.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic altered in-person plans again this year, ACSM President NiCole Keith, Ph.D., FACSM, connected with ACSM President-elect L. Bruce Gladden, Ph.D., FACSM, to virtually pass the gavel. Dr. Keith also reflected on her year as president, and Dr. Gladden outlined his presidential vision for the coming year.
